Danielle Lee is the Associate Dean of Academic Institutes and Programs at SUNY Old Westbury and an Assistant Professor of English where she teaches late medieval/early modern British, world literature, and African American literature. Danielle is also the Director of OW’s new Social and Environmental Justice Institute. Danielle’s research is centered in premodern Critical Race Studies focusing on constructions of otherness in early travel narratives, and the reimagining of African historiography and agency in the early development of the Atlantic trade system.
